I’ve been obsessed with planning and strategy for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I wasn’t just playing hero; I was the architect, the strategist, and the quartermaster. I’d spend hours, sometimes days, building forts, carving wooden swords, and writing multi-page battle plans complete with contingencies. While other kids were in the middle of the action, I was deep in the “lock and load” phase, preparing for every possibility. That obsessive need to plan, to build systems, and to see a project through from start to finish has been a constant thread throughout my life.

This same drive propelled me through martial arts, a music career, and even a high-flying job in the mortgage industry. But it was a double-edged sword. My personality doesn't do moderation well. It’s either all-in or not at all. This intensity brought success, but it also led me down paths of addiction, burnout, and eventually, a life-altering illness that forced me to a full stop.

Lying in a hospital bed for 42 days, diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, I had to relearn everything—how to walk, talk, and even eat. In those quiet, terrifying moments, I was stripped of everything I thought defined me. And in that silence, I found a new kind of clarity. I realized that my entire life had been a series of building, crashing, and rebuilding. From financial instability in childhood to the 2008 market crash and my own health crisis, I had been forced to start over, again and again.

It was during my recovery that the idea for ASC Consultants began to take shape. I looked back at my journey—starting my own detailing business in a new state, feeling isolated and overwhelmed, and eventually falling back into old habits under the pressure. I remembered the feeling of being completely on my own, responsible for everything, with no one to turn to who truly understood the weight of it all. I knew I wasn't the only one.
